Description
Identification of culturable bacteria associated with the rhizosphere of Lablab purpureus growing in Namibia. Lablab purpureus is a drought tolerant legume. This crop has a global social recognition that stretches from human food (vegetable and pulse) to soil fertility improvement to high-quality animal fodder. This crop is indigenous to India and Africa and is mostly grown by small-scale farmers in the semi-arid, dry poor soils of Africa, Southeast Asia and America. The bacteria associated with the rhizosphere of Lablab purpureus can be used in the production of environmentally friendly biofertilisers.
