Description
The book aims to present thought provoking insights into the contemporary legal issues prevailing in the Indian Legal System. Not confining to a specific area of interest, the author aims to combine different aspects of various disciplines. The book contains seven chapters. Each chapter is designed to a particular concern. The first chapter titled 'The Dirty play of Politics on the Citizenship Amendment Act' aims to analyze the pitfalls of the Act. Brazenly passing the Act infringing the very fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution of India has broken the secular fabric of India. The subject matter of the proposed paper decodes the irrationality in the Act. The second chapter titled 'The New Age Eugenics of DNA patenting' intends to analyze the term 'DNA Theft' through a comparative study in the European Union and the United States. Patenting genes is the reality now. Whether patenting genes breaches the fundamental right to privacy is also a question that is dealt with the chapter. The third chapter titled 'Shielding India's Indigenous Wisdom' proposes the efforts taken by the Government of India to protect Traditional Knowledge.
