Cultivation of Two Indigenous Mushrooms Named as Agaricus Bisporus and Pleurouts Ostreatus

Description
The present research work explored cultivation of Agaricus bisporus and Pleurotus ostreatus. They were cultivated on wheat straw compost prepared by different methods for both mushrooms. The total yield of Oyster and Button mushrooms were measures as 9837.43g and 11112.8g under the controlled conditions of humidity and temperature. Total expenditure was 9284.38and 6182.75for Oyster and Button mushrooms respectively and total sale price of both mushrooms were 14287.78 and 556.4 respectively. Antifungal activity of mushrooms against thr notorious fungal pathogens present on maize crop grown in Samahni, Gochar, Draiyan of District Bhimber, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) were also determined. Two edible mushrooms Pleurotus ostreatus and Agaricus bisporus were selected for cultivation and antifungal activity to minimize the disease severity of three seed borne pathogens of maize.
