The book is trying to establish the safety of beta blockers in hypertensive patients by using 2 groups of hypertensive population and giving different beta blockers in each. Hypertension is an emergency and should be treated promptly, it may also affect the other organ system adversely such as heart, kidney or even eyes. There are various drugs present in the market which helps in lowering down the hypertension which includes beta blockers too. The efficacy of a drug is determined by outweighing its adverse effect on a human population. There are various betablocker present in the market such as atenolol, metoprolol, carvedilol, esmolol, propranolol etc. For many patients, including those with diabetes or high coronary artery disease risk, β blockers are a beneficial, recommended treatment option. They help in lowering the blood pressure, but do they have any side effects. This study wants to establish the effect of beta blockers in lowering hypertension and establishing its pertinent side effects on the human body. It is important to note that while addressing the question of β blockers' effectiveness, the answer lies not in global generalizations but in assessing individual patients and specific β-blocking agents along with the population and gender on which the effectiveness is being tested on.
