Description
This research focuses on presenting gender and language use in Myanmar context. Firstly, prior to discussing the basic physical differences between men and women, teacher and student participants commonly agreed physical differences between males and females. Next, teachers' perceptions about the gender differences in the use of language in home context were explored with teachers' interview survey. Regarding it, although both men and women use the same features in the home context, they develop distinct speech styles, as the boundaries are not clearly identified. After that, gender differences in the use of language have also been particularly looked at in the classroom through student questionnaire and major findings have been mentioned. In addition, some testable claims about men's and women's language use have been also pointed out. Finally, claims about women's use of Language in Myanmar context has been generally predicted in a systematic manner.
