Prof. Gouri Sankar Bandyopadhyay (1962- ), M.A. Ph.D is presently serving as Principal & senior faculty in History of Syamsundar College, India. He is in teaching since February 1990 and served different universities and colleges of West Bengal, India. He has authored 15 books/monographs like Folk Religion and Mass Culture of Rural Bengal—Tradition and Transformation (2007), Contemporary World History: 1945-2014 (2007, 2014, in Bengali), Ancestral Cult in Bengal—A Comparative Study, Jihad and Global Terrorism Ongoing Islam phobia and its Coherent Responses (2015) etc. on different branches of social sciences, history and culture. The number of his papers/articles, published in different reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals is nearly 60. The areas of his study and research are as vast as multidisciplinary. Dr. Bandyopadhyay visited many countries such as U.K. (Cambridge University, Roehampton Univeisity and University of Oxford), Thailand, Bangladesh, Malaysia, France, Sri Lanka, USA (Riverside University, California & Princeton University, Princeton, NJ) etc. and presented his papers in the distinguished universities/international conferences.
