Pauli Suominen, MD, Ph.D. has graduated as a medical doctor in 1996, and earned his Ph.D. in 2000 in the field of laboratory medicine, where he also earned a senior consultant degree in 2006. In the field of psychiatry, Pauli Suominen has achieved a senior consultant degree in 2016, and has been working in various positions in clinical psychiatry for the past 10 years. During the recent years he has worked as an occupational psychiatrist in an outpatient setting, where stress-related psychiatric disorders are highly prevalent. Therefore the rationale for an integrative conceptualization of metacognition as a highly transdiagnostic system has stemmed from clinical demand.
