Alessandra was born in Brazil. She integrated the career of tax auditor of state of Rondônia in 1997, and in 1998 began her activities at the Central Bank of Brazil (CBB). She has worked in diverse areas, such as Supervision—participating in onsite inspections (e.g., bank, finance company, financial cooperative); Organization of the Financial System/Projects; and International Affairs. She has acted as Co-chair of Brazil in the Access through Innovation Subgroup of the FIEG within the G20. Throughout her career, there were periods on leave—she has been to South Africa, India, Bolivia and Brazil— among other activities, the author delved into microfinance area, having experiences in different countries. She is also co-organizer and coauthor of books on financial system and has worked as a facilitator at the CB of Angola; CBB; and Fipe. Alessandra holds a PhD in Economic Development.
