Ali Ahmad is a Professor of Law and has taught comparative constitutional law and other public law courses at various institutions in Nigeria, including Bayero University, University of Ilorin and University of Abuja. He is also a founding member of the Council of the National Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abuja. He is currently the Dean of Law at Baze University, Abuja. Away from the academia, he was elected as a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives where he served as its Chairman, Committee on Justice (2011-2015). Subsequently, he was elected a member and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly. He also served as Attorney-General of the State. He is the author of, most recently, Law and Democratic Consolidation in Nigeria.
