Łukasz Mioduszewski and Marek Cieplak invented the Dynamic Structure Based model in 2018. It enables large-scale simulations of intrinsically disordered proteins. Their model was used, among others, for simulating knot formation in proteins [1], aggregation of polyglutamine and polyalanine [2] and conformational dynamics of intrinsically disordered proteins [3]:
