Description

The World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Since then, the disease has been a great threat to humanity. Persons with disabilities, including visual impairment, are among the population that can have not only a higher risk of getting infection, but also may end up with serious illness due to the COVID-19. The measures initiated to control the outbreak can also pose tremendous challenges and thereby compounded the impacts on persons with disabilities. To reduce these challenges and impacts, it is important to design strategies that can improve the overall outcome for persons with disabilities. This book, therefore, describes strategies or guidelines that can potentially be considered to circumvent the challenges faced by persons with disabilities during such an emergency lockdown.
