Description
This anthology is driven by a profound commitment to shaping a visionary future for education, with a central focus on leadership and policy. Education is often seen as a complex realm for assessment, wrongly perceived as having effects that only reveal themselves over extended periods, measured solely through financial metrics or the eventual socio-economic status of its beneficiaries. However, I firmly stand among a community of educators who passionately argue that education's intrinsic worth should yield immediate, observable impacts on students. It should go beyond the pursuit of post-graduation financial gains and instead serve as a cornerstone for nurturing the happiness and well-being of learners. In this envisioned educational landscape, educators play a pivotal role in forging the way forward. Chapter 1 delineates the foundational responsibilities that educators must embrace within their noble calling. Here, we stress the urgency of educators constructing their personal leadership philosophy manifestos. These manifestos act as guiding stars, directing their daily efforts toward the realization of long-term educational objectives and, in turn, the creation of an ideal educational realm. Unfortunately, the current state of education falls considerably short of the ideal vision outlined above. Paradoxically, even in the wealthiest nation, the United States, disparities in educational quality and access persist, perpetuating deep-rooted injustices. Chapter 2 delves into the complex web of theories proposed by numerous American scholars, shedding light on the pervasive problem of educational inequality.
