Description
Nepal was hit by two large earthquakes on April 25 and May 12, 2015, which resulted in thousands of fatalities and significant damage to the country's infrastructure and way of life. The earthquake affected more than eight hundred thousand residences, many educational institutions, cultural monuments, and many other physical infrastructures. The earthquake left more than 500,000 dwellings, mostly in rural regions, badly damaged or destroyed. The impact of catastrophes is more severe in developing nations than in less developed nations like Nepal. Due to their greater vulnerability, rural areas have severe post-disaster housing difficulties. For the reconstruction program to be successful, especially in underdeveloped countries like Nepal, the reconstruction of rural housing should be focused on. Nevertheless, there were several problems and difficulties encountered during the reconstruction process, which subsequently had an impact on the speed and quality. In order to improve reconstruction policies for upcoming setbacks, this study intends to identify the factors influencing reconstruction in rural housing.
