Description
hristianity in Sub-Saharan Africa is growing. On a weekly basis millions of people participate in worship services of which preaching almost always forms part. Simultaneously, many societies in this part of the world, as elsewhere, experience deep divisions and concomitantly the dire need for reconciliation. In this book the author explores the role that narrative preaching can play in the long road towards reconciliation. To do this, he combined insights from Old Testament Studies with insights gained from Practical Theology, integrating it for the domain of Homiletics. As such his insights and recommendations are a timely contribution for preachers which will enrich the art of preaching and promote reconciliation. This book is also a welcome contribution from Africa for Africa to the academic field of Homiletics.
