The reflections gathered in this volume were written over the course of my seven years of service as pastor of St. Bernadette Church in Bayou Vista, within the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana, from July 2019 to May 2026. They were first shared with the parish community through the weekly bulletin, born of a quiet desire to accompany God’s people along the ordinary, yet deeply sacred, journey of daily life. Each reflection took shape in the quiet space of prayer, emerging from meditation on the Gospel proclaimed for that particular Sunday. Week after week, I found myself returning to the same humble question: “What is the Lord inviting us to see, to understand, and to live more deeply?” In seeking an answer, these writings gradually came into being—not as finished thoughts, but as moments of reflection shared along the way. They were written with an awareness of the struggles, hopes, and questions that mark our human experience, and with a longing to help others discover God’s presence within them. It has been a profound grace to hear from many parishioners that these reflections touched their hearts, helped them look more honestly at their lives, and encouraged them to grow in faith. Because these writings follow the rhythm of the liturgical year, certain themes return again and again. This is not repetition without purpose, but rather an echo of the Church’s own wisdom, which gently calls us, time and again, to deeper conversion and a more faithful living of the Gospel. It seemed fitting, then, to gather these reflections into a single collection. My hope is that, in these pages, you may find words that invite you to pause, to reflect, and to listen more attentively to the quiet voice of God. May they strengthen your faith and lead you into a deeper and more personal relationship with him. Above all, this collection stands as a simple expression of how deeply I care for your Christian life and your journey of faith.
