HYBRID BOILER SUIT explores the development of an intelligent wearable safety system designed to combine the protective function of conventional marine workwear with integrated monitoring, emergency detection, communication, location tracking, and assisted flotation. The book presents the complete development journey of the Hybrid Boiler Suit (HBS), from the identification of a marine safety problem and literature survey through system architecture, component selection, programming, prototype fabrication, integration, and testing. The prototype uses an ESP32-based control system with physiological and environmental sensing, GPS positioning, wireless communication, and a servo-operated flotation activation mechanism. Particular attention is given to the man-overboard response sequence, in which water contact can initiate emergency decision-making, location acquisition, transmission of emergency information, and assisted flotation activation. The book also examines power management, sensor integration, communication, health-related monitoring, and future system improvements. Rather than presenting the suit as a replacement for approved maritime safety equipment, this work documents an academic prototype and engineering proof of concept, while identifying the reliability, environmental, regulatory, and certification requirements necessary for future development.
