Description
Artificial intelligence is reshaping the skills required in modern workplaces and the ways vocational education can be designed, delivered, assessed, and governed. This book examines how Thailand can integrate AI into competency-based short-term vocational education in a practical, responsible, and quality-assured manner. Drawing on Thai laws and policy frameworks, vocational education initiatives, international guidance, and current research, the book analyzes the opportunities and challenges of AI-enabled short courses. It proposes the AI-Integrated Competency-Based Short-Course Framework (AI-CBSC), built around seven interconnected pillars: labour-market and occupational-standard alignment; occupational and AI competencies; modular and stackable curriculum design; human-centred AI-enabled pedagogy; authentic human-in-the-loop assessment; responsible data and AI governance; and continuous quality assurance. A four-phase implementation roadmap is also presented, covering readiness, pilot development, scaling, and institutionalization. Emphasizing that AI should augment rather than replace teachers, workplace mentors, assessors, and learner agency, the book offers a policy and practice framework for developing trustworthy, flexible, and future-ready vocational education in Thailand.
