How does an organization move from distributed human judgments, documents, procedures, and machine-generated content to a single position that is treated as speaking for the whole? Human–AI Representation Systems develops a rigorous framework for analyzing this transition. It examines how candidate positions are constructed, filtered, contracted, reopened, authorized, and ultimately terminalized as organizational outputs. Particular attention is given to generative AI: not merely as a tool that assists drafting, but as a system that can materially participate in shaping the very position later presented as an organization’s own. The book introduces Construction–Voice Coupling (CVC) as an operational diagnostic for tracking whether substantive AI contribution to candidate construction remains operative in a terminal organizational position and receives institutional authorization or representative standing. It also distinguishes descriptive from operative carryover, contraction from terminalization, and outcome similarity from genuine lineage. Rather than treating human approval as a complete answer to governance, the monograph asks a more difficult question: what entered the representation, what was excluded, and which contributions remained action-bearing when the organization finally spoke? Written at the intersection of AI governance, organizational decision-making, and representation theory, the book offers a precise vocabulary for studying authority, provenance, correction, revocability, and accountability in human–AI systems.
