Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Starting of Induction Motors

Description
The starting of induction motors can impose substantial electrical and thermal stresses on industrial microgrids and battery energy storage systems. This book explores an artificial intelligence-assisted approach to coordinating motor starting while accounting for battery stress, component degradation, and operational constraints. The proposed framework integrates degradation-aware decision-making, coordinated control, and simulation-based evaluation to investigate how motor-starting strategies can reduce peak current and battery stress. Using mathematical modelling and computational simulations, the book examines system behaviour under different operating conditions and compares conventional starting approaches with coordinated alternatives. Combining electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, and battery degradation modelling, this work provides a technical reference for researchers, engineers, and postgraduate students interested in intelligent energy management, industrial microgrids, and the reliable operation of battery-supported electrical systems. The results are presented within the scope of the models and simulation scenarios studied, offering a foundation for further investigation and experimental validation.
