This book comprises conversations with the philosophical thinker, art critic, and cultural anthropologist Abdel Hernandez San Juan, the book addresses topics such as: 1- How conceptualism, in its dual source—as philosophical conceptualism and as conceptualism in art—has transcended the usual parameters of art education in fine arts academies, encouraging and stimulating the development of independent, autonomous schools of conceptual teaching. The renewal of Marxism and post-Marxist thought and the influence of structuralism and semiotics on non-Marxist thought initially developed in Cuba from the 1980s onwards, 3- How the phenomenological, microsociological, phenomenological sociology, symbolic interactionism, and ethnomethodology perspectives in the social sciences, viewed from the semiotics of the text, contribute to the rethinking of paradigms that have established the relationships between texts and contexts, and to the ways of understanding and interpreting culture, 4- How to rethink the place of anthropology and, in general, the social sciences concerned with the study of culture, from classical philosophy in epistemology, between philosophy and sociology, rethinking its parameters towards the contemporary and postmodern in cultural values, 5- How to understand and interpret postmodernism in anthropology from the perspective of situating it within the general system of art and culture 6-How to understand the emergence of a new field of art and anthropology, where both humanities converge, feed off each other and dialogue both in pedagogy and teaching, as well as in the field of art criticism, the understanding of contemporary art and the development of curatorial practices, 7-What meanings does the study of subjectivities in diaspora contribute to the understanding of culture.
