Cyril Pervilhac is an international public health specialist who graduated from Columbia University, in Sociology (B.A., 1980), and a public health degree at Tulane SPHTM (MPH, 1982). Pursued an advanced research degree in Bielefeld University, Germany (DrPH, 2000).
He managed infectious diseases, NCDs and research programs in Africa for ten years.
Technical advisor at UNAIDS and WHO Geneva (2000-2012). Consultant for Governments, bi-and multi-lateral agencies, and Foundations and lecturer in Universities in Europe.
His research interest is bringing forth the neglected role of social sciences in public health in particular the central role of civil societies and communities vs. the dominant bio-medical paradigm.
