Dr. Mahmoud Said Elsayed received the B.E. degree in electronics and communication engineering from Zagazig University, Zagazig, Egypt in 2007, the M.E. degrees in Information Security from Nile University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2018, and a PhD degree from the School of Computer Science, UCD, Dublin, Ireland in 2022. He is also received a diploma in management of innovation from the DIT Institute, Dublin, Ireland, and another diploma in networking from the ITI Institute, Cairo, Egypt. Besides, a set of international professional certificates in computer networks, security, and IT fields from Cisco, IBM, Huawei, and VMware systems. He has worked for several years in the industry through Huawei and IBM Co. in the area of Computer Networks and Security.
Dr. Mahmoud is currently a Network and Security Design Engineer at one of the largest companies in the field of telecommunications. He is also serving as a technical supervisor for PhD students at UCD, Ireland, and master students at Nile University, Egypt. His research interests include, but are not limited to computer networks, cybersecurity, applications of artificial intelligence to anomaly detection, cancer prognosis and prediction, software-defined networks, malware and vulnerability analysis, security for the Internet of Things, routing protocols, cloud computing, and next generation Wi-Fi design.
