Adult education (AE) in South African context is defined is a process of teaching and learning that subscribes to the principles of autonomy that are goal and problem-orientated, thus bringing knowledge, experience and application to what has been learn, amongst other things. This study, therefore, seeks to formulate a technological skills transfer framework that allows the emerging farmers to display, as observed in the contextual application of the level descriptors in the National Qualifications Framework level five. The emerging farmers should display “…an informed understanding of the disciplines, and an informed understanding of the key terms, concepts, facts, general principles, rules and theories of that discipline”. The AE in this study mainly focuses on people fifteen years of age and older. AE uses learning and teaching techniques where the emerging farmer displays his or her knowledge while learning from fellow emerging farmers.
